Nanocoating instruction sheet
Description

Do not use at temperatures lower than 10°C! Do not expose the surface which you will treat to solar radiation! Do not apply on warmed-up surfaces! Make sure that the room is well ventilated with enough supply of fresh air! The surface has to be cleaned before application! Temperature for use should be 10-30°C, best 15-25°C.

Step 1: Cleaning of surface

Before treating substrate surfaces with LotusReady unflex, make sure they have been cleaned carefully; this will enable chemical connection to the substrate's surface. Long-term stability and abrasion resistance of the coating depend of the possibility for LotusReady unflex to connect chemically. Clean abrasively* the respective surface with current glass cleaner or similar cleaner and polish until it is dry. Pay attention that the cleaner does not contain additives such as e.g. perfumes or polishing and wax additives. Repeat cleaning procedure to ensure that no persistent residues of dirt, which might be thin and therefore hardly visible, remain on the surface; if necessary check with a white tissue handkerchief. In kitchen, bathroom and sanitary facilities, we recommend to use special lime solvents resp. lime cleaner or similar special cleaner. The abrasive* cleaning guarantees an impeccable clean and reactive surface. The surface should be coated immediately after the abrasive* cleaning.

Information for treatment

LotusReady unflex should be used outside or in well ventilated rooms. We recommend to use enclosed respirator mask during treatment. Use LotusReady unflex in closed rooms only by pouring on resp. polishing on the surface.

Step 2: Method of treatment

Avoid direct solar radiation during application. Apply LotusReady unflex only on a completely dry substrate. For application on outside surfaces, first start with half of the area or a smaller part. Pour or spray enough nano sealing on the surface, in order to obtain a thin
coating of liquid. At temperatures about 20°c, spread the product for approx. 1 to 2 minutes as liquid coating, at lower temperatures slightly longer, by using enclosed application cloth resp. polishing cloth. If the coating film begins to dry too fast because of evaporating thinner, pour or spray additional sealing solution. Don’t let the liquid film dry! Before the product dries on, immediately polish away the still liquid coating with enclosed polishing cloth, until no streak residues remain. Alternatively we recommend to remove the excess by a glass extractor. Then polish again with the second polishing cloth. At places which have not been polished fast enough you might obtain streaks. You can moisten such surfaces which contain too much coating by rubbing with the freshly saturated polishing or application cloth and then rub down with a clean tissue handkerchief. After 5-15 minutes a hydrophobic effect appears, still improving after a few minutes, depending on substrate, reactivity and temperature. The nano coating will be fully developed after approx. 1-2 days, then you can profit by the ample advantages of surfaces treatd by unflex nano coatings!

Information to polishing cloths:

Do not use microfibre or cotton cloths for polishing LotusReady unflex! We recommend to use enclosed polishing cloths in order to obtain best coating. Renewal of already treated surfaces Coating with LotusReady unflex has a long lifetime. On places with little wear such as e.g. windows, wall flags or metal panels, the effects of coating can be seen up to 5 years. Once the effect starts to weaken, the surface can again be nano coated without any particular measures. Cleaning and nano coating are done similar to an initial treatment. If glass has first been treated with another coating agent, we recommend to activate the surface repeatedly by
an abrasive* cleaner.

* Cleaner without additives.
The cleaner should not contain additives such as e.g. perfumes or polishing additives. Best preliminary treatment for kitchen and bathroom flags is a scouring agent. Alternatively use special lime cleaners. The advantage for flags, besides the already mentioned advantages, is the anti-limeeffect and anti-graffiti-effect. Lifetime of nano sealing on flags is more than 5 years!
